Bikes or death

ep. 157 - cycling the world solo

Last month McKenzie Barney pedaled her bike into Colombia, the last country on her Cycle the World project that started years before. In total McKenzie cycled 18,000 miles, through 28 countries and 5 continents, and most of it was solo. Her travels would take her through Africa, South America, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and South East Asia. McKenzie is the first person I’ve spoken to who has cycled the world and it made me wonder, “is there a set of rules that constitutes Cycling the World?”

ep. 33 - Experiences From Cycling 29,000km Around the World

29,000kms. That’s the magic distance required to cycle the world and my guest for episode 33 of Seek Travel Ride recently did just that. It was an absolute pleasure to interview McKenzie and listen to her share her experiences of this monumental endeavor. She is an intrepid adventurer and throughout my interview with her, it was really evident just how slow travel in this manner has shaped her into the person she is today. All up McKenzie travelled across five continents and 28 countries, leaving her with a monumental amount of lifetime experiences. She is a natural story teller and I encourage you to listen to her share what it was like bicycle touring in this manner. I guarantee it will leave you with a sense of wanderlust!
